Steven Syre Departs Boston Globe; Will Join Wife Laura Raposa at The Foodsmith in Duxbury

A business columnist for the Boston Globe has said goodbye to the newspaper after 20 years and will be joining his wife at her new South Shore bakery and lunch spot.

According to a post from Dan Kennedy, Steven Syre has opted for a buyout at the Globe, writing his last Boston Capital column that concludes with "Thanks to so many sources and colleagues for your help over the years. And most of all, thank you for reading." Kennedy says that Syre will be working with his wife--and former Boston Herald writer--Laura Raposa at The Foodsmith, which opened in Duxbury last month.

In Dan Kennedy's post, Syre says that "I've had a great job for 20 years...but it's time to try some new things."

The Foodsmith is located at 17 Standish Street in Duxbury, MA; its website can be found at http://www.thefoodsmithduxbury.com/
