Kindred in Somerville's Davis Square Has Suspended Operation

A cafe in one of the busiest sections of Somerville has closed after a very short time in business, and it appears to be due to financial issues stemming from the difficult weather of late.

According to its website, Kindred Tea and Tonic Cafe in Davis Square is shuttered, with the Holland Street spot saying it has "suspended operation until further notice. We are seeking investors and support to continue our mission....Thank you for all the support you have given us these past few months. These winter storms have been brutal to all businesses, not just us." Kindred partially opened in December of 2014, with the place fully opening earlier this year; the cafe offered a variety of teas along with tonics and gifts.

The address for this now-closed spot in Davis Square was: Kindred Tea and Tonic Cafe, 11 Holland Street, Somerville, MA, 02144.

Thanks to Davis Square LiveJournal for bringing this to our attention.
