Zocalo Cocina Mexicana in Arlington Has Closed

It looks like a Mexican restaurant that has been in business in one form or another for many years has closed its doors.

According to multiple sources, Zocalo Cocina Mexicana in Arlington is now shuttered, with one business owner nearby saying that this is a permanent closure. At this point in time, we are waiting on new information on what the exact status of the restaurant is and why it may have shut down; as soon as we find out more, we will update this article.

[March 9 update: According to the owner of Zocalo, the restaurant is indeed closed and a decision on the space will be coming soon (possibly later this week). The owner does tell us that the catering business of the Arlington eatery remains in operation.]

Zocalo has been in business under its present name for approximately 10 years, though it had an ownership change a couple of years ago. Before that, the dining spot had been called Ole Mexican Grill.

A location of Zocalo can also be found on Stanhope Street in the Back Bay of Boston while a location of Ole (and Olecito, which is a takeout spot) can be found on Springfield Street in Cambridge's Inman Square.

The address for this now-closed Mexican restaurant in Arlington was: Zocalo Cocina Mexicana, 203 Broadway, Arlington, MA, 02474.
