Poe's Pub is Planning to Open in Boston's Downtown Crossing

It looks like a new restaurant and bar is on its way to the heart of Boston, and a familiar name is involved with it (and the name of the place itself may sound familiar as well).

The Boston Business Journal is reporting that Brian Poe is planning to open Poe's Pub somewhere in the Downtown Crossing area, and as is the case with other spots that he is a part of, he is partnering with restaurateur Gordon Wilcox. Poe is behind such places as the Rattlesnake in the Back Bay, the Tip Tap Room in Beacon Hill, and Estelle's in the South End, the latter of which was initially going to be a restaurant and bar called Poe's Chester Square Pub, or simply "Poe's Pub." Those plans fell through, with Estelle's eventually opening in the space instead in late 2012.

Very little is known about the upcoming Poe's Pub in Downtown Crossing at this point in time; as soon as we hear of any address, concept, and possible opening date, we will post an update here.
