Boston Burger Company Moving into Dolphin Seafood Space in Cambridge

A burger restaurant that has locations in Somerville and Boston is opening a third, with this one being between Harvard Square and Central Square in Cambridge.

According to a License Commission General Hearing page within the City of Cambridge website, Boston Burger Company is seeking to acquire the All Alcoholic Beverages Restaurant License that is currently held by Dolphin Seafood on Mass. Ave., with the note seeming to indicate that it will be taking over Dolphin's space (this has not been confirmed as of yet). The note says that if the transfer does take place, the new location of the burger spot would have 72 seats and proposed hours from 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM seven days a week.

[August 14 update: Eater Boston mentions that Dolphin Seafood will be closing this Sunday (August 17) after 39 years in business, with an email from the restaurant saying that its Natick location will remain open.]

[January 19, 2015 update: A new article from Eater Boston says that Boston Burger Company opens today in the former Dolphin Seafood space in Cambridge.]

Boston Burger Company first opened in April of 2009 in Somerville's Davis Square, with a second one opening on Boylston Street in the Back Bay of Boston in April of 2012. The restaurants offer 24 types of burgers along with soups, salads, boneless wings, chicken sandwiches, and more.

The address for Dolphin Seafood (and the new Boston Burger Company) is 1105 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02138. The website for Boston Burger Company can be found at http://www.bostonburgerco.com/
