BurgerFi Is Opening by Boston University

It looks like a Florida-based chain of burger places is going to be opening its first Boston-area location.

Eater Boston is reporting (via a job post on the Craigslist site) that BurgerFi plans to open a shop at an as-of-yet undisclosed location by Boston University, making this the third outlet in New England (the other two are in Connecticut). According to EB, it appears that the new burger spot could be opening sometime shortly after January 21, which is mentioned on Craigslist as a start date for a number of job positions at the restaurant.

[January 2, 2014 update: According to a poster on the Twitter site, BurgerFi is planning to open in late January in the former Qdoba space at 961 Commonwealth Avenue. (This address has been confirmed by the Boston Hospitality and Tourism Industry Blog.)]

[February 20, 2014 update: A Twitter post sent to us says that BurgerFi plans to open its new location in Boston on Monday, February 24. (This is the same date that the chain gave via Twitter a bit more than a week ago.)]

BurgerFi, which is headquartered in North Palm Beach, currently has over 50 locations in a number of states around the country. The chain features all-natural, grass-fed beef as well as Kobe beef hot dogs, fries, onion rings, frozen custard, frozen concrete, and beer and wine (it also has a "secret" menu that actually doesn't appear all that secret). Its website can be found at http://burgerfi.com/
