Owner of Gargoyles May Be Opening Sandwich Shop in Boston's Financial District

It looks like the person behind a popular restaurant in Somerville that closed two years ago is going to be opening a new spot in the heart of downtown Boston.

The Restaurant Hub blog of The Boston Globe reports that James Conforti of the now-shuttered Gargoyles in Davis Square is planning to open a sandwich shop on State Street in Boston's Financial District. This comes in part from a Facebook post seen earlier this week on the still-running Gargoyles page that mentions the following: "Lease signed. Get ready for the next food trend in America to open in November." Currently, there is no other news on the upcoming spot from Conforti, so keep checking back for updates.

Gargoyles closed in September of 2011 after being in business for more than 15 years.
