Radius in Boston's Financial District Is Closing

Earlier this year, we reported that a well-known restaurateur's flagship eatery in downtown Boston was not up for sale (despite rumors claiming otherwise) . Now we have learned that the high-end dining spot is going to be shutting down.

The Boston Globe states (via an interview with owner Michael Schlow) that Radius in the city's Financial District is closing on June 29 after being in business on High Street for approximately 15 years, with Schlow saying that "If our lease wasn't over [on July 1], we wouldn't be leaving." The article mentions that Schlow is planning to open a new restaurant nearby that will likely have a different name, though with the Radius team working there, and that he is currently "in negotiations."

[June 27 update: According to a Twitter post from Radius, the restaurant will be having a "last call" on Saturday, June 29 from 9:00 PM to close. Included will be complimentary late-night bites, burger sliders, and more.]

In addition to Radius (which focused on French cuisine), Michael Schlow is also behind Barrio Cantina, Tico, and Via Matta in Boston, as well as Alta Strada in Wellesley.

The address for this soon-to-close restaurant in the Financial District is: Radius, 8 High Street, Boston, MA, 02110.
