Firehouse Subs Is Opening in Woburn

A Florida-based chain of quick-casual sandwich shops is getting ready to open its third Boston-area location, with many more possibly on the way.

According to NECN videographer @scottwholley, Firehouse Subs is planning to open in Woburn, with a "Coming Soon" sign on a Commerce Way storefront by the Target store. (A check on the chain's website confirms this.) Once it opens, the new Firehouse will join locations in Boston's Back Bay and Danvers, with an earlier article by us mentioning that the chain could eventually be opening nearly 70 locations in and around Boston.

[April 12 update: An email sent to us indicates that Firehouse Subs opens in Woburn next Wednesday (April 17).]

Firehouse Subs was first established in Florida in the mid-1990s by two brothers from a long line of firefighters. The eateries are involved in community service, with their focus being on public safety.

The address for this new sandwich shop in Woburn is: Firehouse Subs, 103 Commerce Way (Suite C1), Woburn, MA, 01801. The website for the chain is at http://www.firehousesubs.com/
