Sheryl Julian, Boston Globe Food Section Recognized by Association of Food Journalists

The Association of Food Journalists has announced the winners in its 2012 awards competition, and the food editor of a Boston newspaper has made it onto the list.

According to the association's press release on the awards, Sheryl Julian and the Boston Globe food section came in second place in the largest newspaper category, which includes papers that have a circulation of 200,001 or more. First place went to the food and wine staff of the San Francisco Chronicle, while third place went to Joe Gray and Carmel Carrillo of the Chicago Tribune.

In addition to being the Globe's food editor, Sheryl Julian has also written/edited several food-based books, including "The Way We Cook" and "The New Boston Globe Cookbook."
