Owner of Fat Cat in Quincy Is Opening Passport in Weymouth

The owner of a comfort food restaurant in Quincy Center is going to be opening a second eatery, with this one featuring international fare.

The Patriot Ledger is reporting that a new dining spot, tentatively called Passport, will be opening in Weymouth Landing, taking over the Washington Street space where Blue Pointe Bistro had been until closing this past winter. The person behind the upcoming spot runs the Fat Cat, a Chestnut Street dining and drinking establishment that is known in part for its deep-fried pickle slices and macaroni and cheese. The article mentions that the 55-seat Passport will offer "a new take on international fare from pierogi to empanadas," and it will serve beer, wine, and liquor, pending approval by the state.

Expect Passport to open in about four months, according to the Patriot Ledger.

[April 23, 2013 update: A post on the Fat Cat's Facebook page indicates that Passport will open this Thursday (April 25).]

The address for this upcoming restaurant in Weymouth Landing is: Passport, 61 Washington Street (Route 53), Weymouth, MA, 02188.
