Brew at the Zoo Returning to Franklin Park Zoo, August 18, 2012

An offbeat beer tasting event is returning once again to a Boston zoo in August.

An email from Marlo Marketing/Communications indicates that the third annual Brew at the Zoo will take place at the Franklin Park Zoo on Saturday, August 18 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The event, which will be held in the zoo's Tropical Forest Pavilion, will include stations hosted by local breweries, restaurants, and caterers, including Blue Hills Brewery, Cambridge Brewing Company, Clown Shoes Beer, Long Trail Brewing Co., Samuel Adams, Watch City Brewing Company, Doyle's Cafe, Piantedosi Baking Company, and others. Music will be provided by DJ BK.

The Tropical Forest Pavilion at the Franklin Park Zoo is home to such animals as western lowland gorillas, a giant anteater, and ring-tailed lemurs. In addition to seeing these and other animals, guests will also be able to visit Zoorassic Park, a seasonal exhibit that features more than 15 lifesize animatronic dinosaurs.

Tickets to the 2012 Brew at the Zoo cost $50 in advance ($60 at the door). Please note that this is a 21+ event.

Franklin Park Zoo is located at One Franklin Park Road near the Dorchester/Roxbury line.
