Shojo Is Opening in Boston's Chinatown Neighborhood

[Ed note: This article was updated on May 23 to reflect some additional information given.]

A new Asian restaurant is coming to Boston, and it will be run by the folks behind a popular Chinese eatery.

A job post on the Craigslist site shows that Shojo is going to be opening in the Chinatown section of the city, with the post indicating that the new restaurant will feature a "young, vibrant, contemporary take on the food of Asia." The Boston Magazine Chowder blog clarifies the address of the place, which is incorrectly posted by directory websites--it will be at 11 Tyler Street, which is below China Pearl, a decades-old restaurant that happens to be behind the new place. Chowder mentions that Shojo will be an Asian tapas restaurant with a variety of beers, cocktails and sake offered, as well as traditional Asian liqueurs. The dining spot could be open by July 1.

[July 16 update: The Boston Magazine Chowder blog reports that Shojo is hoping to open a week from today (Monday, July 23).]

[August 1 update: According to their Facebook page, Shojo is now officially open.]

[August 2 update: Even though their Facebook page states that Shojo is officially open, it appears that their "grand opening" will be next week.]

[August 8 update: Today is the grand opening for Shojo.]

China Pearl also has a location in the Kam Man Marketplace on Quincy Avenue in Quincy.

The address for Shojo is: Shojo, 11 Tyler Street, Boston, MA, 02111.
