Farmstead Table Is Opening in Newton Centre

A new farm-to-table restaurant is going to be opening in Newton Centre, moving into the space where an Indian dining spot used to be.

The Zagat Buzz blog is reporting that Farmstead Table is planning to open on Union Street, taking over the former India Paradise spot. According to Zagat, the husband-and-wife team behind the upcoming eatery are looking to feature a contemporary take on "countryside New England" fare, with such dishes as roast chicken, braised short ribs, and lamb shank. The restaurant will have seating for 48, including 4 seats at the bar and 10 seats in the lounge, and an outdoor deck that will come later will have a capacity of 25. It appears that the interior of the dining spot will be rustic in nature, with antique furnishings and tables made from barn wood.

Expect Farmstead Table to open early in the summer, according to the Zagat blog.
