Tasty Burger Is Opening in Cambridge's Harvard Square

Last month we mentioned that a burger restaurant in Boston's Fenway neighborhood was looking to possibly open in Somerville's Davis Square. Those plans have since fallen through, which ends up being good news for burger lovers in Cambridge's Harvard Square.

The Chowder blog of Boston Magazine is reporting that Tasty Burger on Boylston Street in the Fenway is no longer considering the Rosebud Diner space on Summer Street in Davis Square, instead planning an opening of their second burger place on JFK Street in the heart of Harvard Square. The article states that the new location will not have a full liquor license, but beer and wine will be available.

[December 11 update: UrbanDaddy reports that the new Tasty Burger is tentatively planning to open this weekend. Also, as mentioned in another article we posted on the place, the new burger restaurant will be serving food until 4:00 AM.]

[December 17 update: The Harvard Crimson states that the new Tasty Burger in Harvard Square is now open.]

The original Tasty Burger first opened in September of 2010, offering burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, milkshakes, slushies, beer, and wine. The person behind the restaurant also operates the Franklin Cafe in the South End, South Boston, and Gloucester, as well as The Citizen Public House and Oyster Bar.

The address for this new burger restaurant in Harvard Square will be: Tasty Burger, 40 JFK Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138.
