Otto Pizza Is Opening in Brookline's Coolidge Corner

One year after a Portland, Maine-based pizza spot opened a branch in Cambridge's Harvard Square, it now looks like another location will be coming to the area, with this one being in Brookline.

According to The Brookline TAB and Wicked Local, Otto Pizza is planning to open a new outlet on Harvard Street in Coolidge Corner, taking over the space where Friendly's Express used to be until closing last fall. The article mentions that the new eatery will be much like the Portland location, with seating for 60 and a menu that includes pizza with some rather eclectic options for toppings (butternut squash, pulled pork, mango, zucchini, white bean, etc.), salads, and desserts, and possibly beer and wine pending the acquisition of a liquor license.

A May opening is planned for the new Otto Pizza, according to the TAB.

[February 28 update: Otto Pizza has gotten their beer and wine license wine approved tonight, and the restaurant is now looking to open in either late April or early May.]

[May 21 update: According to their Facebook page, Otto Pizza has had to push back their opening just a bit. They will be opening on Wednesday, May 23 at 5:00 PM.]

[May 23 update: A note from Otto Pizza indicates that their planned opening for today has been delayed. As soon as we find out any other information, we will post another update here.]

[May 24 update: Otto Pizza states on their Twitter page that they will be opening tomorrow (Friday, May 25) at 11:00 AM.]

The address for this new pizza restaurant in Coolidge Corner is: Otto Pizza, 289 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA, 02446. The website for Otto can be found at http://www.ottoportland.com/
