Six Burner in Boston's Back Bay Is Closing; Owners Opening Red Rock Grill and Bar in Upton

A Back Bay restaurant featuring classic American dishes is closing its doors, and the owners are opening a new restaurant in the Worcester area.

According to The Boston Herald, Six Burner on Dartmouth Street is shutting down, with a new dining spot from the people behind Common Ground in Allston and Coda in the South End taking over the space. [July 11, 2011 update: The new spot in the Back Bay will be called The Salty Pig.] The Herald mentions that the husband-and-wife team behind Six Burner, who also ran the now-closed Laurel on nearby Berkeley Street, are opening a new eatery on Main Street in Upton (a few miles southeast of Worcester) called the Red Rock Grill and Bar. [July 11, 2011 update: According to TheDailyGrafton.com, the Red Rock Grill and Bar is now open.]

Six Burner, which first opened around the beginning of the year, featured such comfort food dishes as chili nachos, Kobe beef hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, lobster macaroni and cheese, and meat loaf.
